ECCE HOMO

The Daily Record continues its disgusting agenda to deflect attention away from the Establishment paedophiles with a well-directed campaign of homophobia. They've decided to resurrect the story of Cardinal O'Brien to give the bigots something to mouth off about. All O'Brien is guilty of is being a hypocrite; condemning homosexuality while making passes at other men. He has been charged with no criminal offence and, in fact, has not been accused of any. To read the Daily Record article, however, and the comments from The Peeppul, anyone would get the impression that O'Brien is an evil mixture of Jack the Ripper, Ian Brady, Adolf Hitler and Aleister Crowley.

It would appear that securing a NO vote in September is of far more importance to the Daily Record than exposing the disgusting practices of those in the British Establishment. There was not one word of protest when the unsuitable Lady Butler-Sloss was appointed to head an inquiry. And when the woman withdrew from the post, the DR put the story away down the order of importance. Equally, the Record makes no effort to report on the speculations that there are far more than the touted couple of dozen of these reprobates that have escaped justice. At any other time the Record would be all over this story, revelling in the corruption at the heart of the Tory Establishment. Not now, though; now, they are too cynically concerned about maintaining the Union and don't wish to do anything that might damage it.

The Record even prints a picture of O'Brien's house and tells us that it cost about £208,000. That wouldn't even get you a small semi in Stamperland and it's hardly on the same scale as Chateau Green! It's also hardly on the same scale as Jimmy Savile being handed the keys to any institution he cared to enter to sexually abuse children and vulnerable adults. The Daily Record hardly ever disappoints; just when you thought it couldn't sink any lower it does something like this!

The Record also pushes to the sidelines Priti Patel's astonishing speech in the House of Commons. She was not speaking alone; the right-wing Institute of Economic Affairs organised her speech. She has demanded that the Barnett Formula be changed so that Scotland receives less money. She has been handed a Treasury post in the cabinet reshuffle, showing that Cameron obviously supports her stance. It seems Scotland is to be punished for having the gall to even have a referendum on independence.

Patel is at pains to point out that Scotland puts a 'great strain on the public economy'. This will be grist to the mill of Cameron's 'all in it together' agenda. Meanwhile, £15.9 billion is being spent on Crossrail, a new rail system to ease congestion in London. The best part of £20 billion is also being expended on the HS2 high-speed railway from London to Birmingham. There are promises that this line will extend all the way to Glasgow but obviously the priority is the South of England. So the sick, the elderly and the infirm of Scotland are to have funding taken away while absolute billions are spent just to take a few minutes off a businessman's journey in London. This has gone on for years, with expensive projects like the Thames Barrier taking precedence over everything else. Strangely there has been no voice of dissent against this spending by the Daily Record. That'll have to wait until after September.

One of the big stories in the Record yesterday was the new video by the Better Togetherers. A troupe of Z-list celebrities beg Scotland not to go away. Their reasons for remaining in the Union are ridiculous and ill-informed. Grant Mitchell out of Eastenders reminds us how we've all 'fought together' against common enemies. An old soldier is wheeled out to ram home the point. Scottish soldiers also fought alongside French, Americans, Russians etc. so it's hardly a great argument. Then we've got Trinny and Susannah, saying how they'll miss all the great theatre. Maybe nobody told them but Scotland is going nowhere physically; the great theatre will still be there and there's nothing to stop them attending.

Probably the most pathetic reason comes from Victor Meldrew himself, Richard Wilson. He claims that he is not a nationalist, but an internationalist. If that's the case then why is he in support of a government that is moving towards pulling out of the EU? The recent reshuffle has filled the cabinet with right-wingers galore, who are all desperate to get Britain out of Europe. So either Wilson is completely ignorant or he is being disingenuous. Then again, maybe it's just another pay packet for his old age!

The video then indulges in a bit of tokenism, with a girl in a wheelchair to tug at our heartstrings, when she should be telling us how she is struggling to make ends meet under the current government. And then, at the end, there's a bus driver with a turban, just to let us know how all-inclusive the UK is. Maybe they should have brought some Muslims into it to tell us how their mosques are under attack. If truth be told, England is going to the dogs and if we stay in the Union we're going to be dragged into a very dark place.

Meanwhile The Peeppul are up in arms over the Commonwealth Games. How dare they regenerate the East-End of Glasgow! Hypocritically, they're moaning about disruption to traffic, seemingly forgetting how motorists have to suffer in Glasgow every July while they flaunt their bigotry. They're hoping that the whole thing is a complete disaster and are even praying for rain throughout the games. Do they really want auld German Liz and Phil the Greek to catch their death of cold? What happened to their 'loyalty'?

They're even rejoicing in the news of the outbreak of novovirus and are praying for all manner of plagues to be inflicted. Their hatred really knows no bounds and they're perfectly happy for people's lives to be at risk just to prove some kind of point. McMurdo sees the whole Commonwealth Games as nothing more than evidence of state aid to Celtic, while everybody's still bad to Raynjurz.

McMurdo gets his disciples all excited with the news that "some of the biggest names in Scottish journalism are showing keen interest in the story" of Celtic getting preferential treatment from Glasgow City Council. Now let's see...who could he mean? Well, there are quite a few candidates, especially at the Daily Record. But aren't The Peeppul always saying that all the journalists in Scotland are 'Raynjurz-haturz'? McMurdo wriggles out of this by saying that the journalists won't be allowed to publish any of 'the truth' since our 'mhedia' are under the control of Fenians and IRA supporters. It always pays to get the excuses in early!

How much the press is under the control of 'Raynjurz-haturz' was shown in the reports of Bisto FC's ignominious defeat to an American pub team. Every excuse under the sun was forthcoming: the dire state of the artificial pitch, the confusing markings and even off-putting adverts being broadcast over the P.A. system. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: where the hell is all this anti-Raynjurzness that they go on about all the time? I've certainly never seen it.

One of the "second and third rate athletes" McMurdo claims are taking part in the Commonwealth Games.
