AYE...SOMETHIN'

And the Leigh Griffiths saga rumbles on. I can completely agree with all the folk pointing out that what he was singing wasn't racist and there has been a lot worse coming from the Rangers and Bisto support, players, management and directors. The big problem with Whatabootery, however, is that it works both ways. Any future criticism of the bigoted and racist behaviour of The Peeppil will bring constant references to Leigh Griffiths, especially in our 'neutral' media. Can you imagine how Hugh Keevins will delight in using this?

As if to prove my point McMurdo comes out in support of Griffiths. He's right that the singing wasn't racist but he goes on to say that the Famine Song comes under the same category. So it's happening already. According to McMurdo the Famine Song is black comedy and he knows of no Bisto Kids that find anything 'funny or laudable in the Irish Famine'. Really? I've seen plenty of comments on forums, especially on the Daily Record when they allowed all manner of filth, to say that not enough people died! Even on McMurdo's own blog there are plenty of anti-Irish and anti-Catholic posts, which make it clear that they believe that the only good Irish Catholic is a dead one.

Anyway, back to the point. If Griffiths isn't punished severely, even to the extent of being let go by Celtic, then McMurdo's argument is the least we can expect to hear. Our esteemed Fourth Estate will be more than happy to go along with this, giving a good excuse for The Peeppil to belt out the old favourites with impunity, including the Billy Boys. Mind you, they already sing their songs with impunity but you can see what I'm getting at. Nobody is bigger than the club and I'm afraid, for the good of us all, Griffiths will have to be sacked.

On McMurdo's site and on Vanguard Bears they're still banging on about corrupt deals between Celtic and Glasgow City Council. Are they ever going to let this nonsense drop? Apparently not. They're determined to do what David Murray failed to do: wipe Celtic FC off the face of the Earth. Then they can return to their 'rightful place' and win the Premiership year after year. Surely they don't want all those 'tainted titles' do they?

More appropriate for investigation would be the constant way Rangers and then Bisto have been allowed to do what they want. From their sectarian signing policy to being permitted to build dangerous structures that led to a death toll of nearly a hundred over the course of the Twentieth Century. Then there's the financial chicanery involving HBOS, which, of course, nobody is interested in. And then we have the big fraud, where a CLUB went into administration but then a mysterious HOLDING COMPANY was liquidated, while Hughie Green was fraudulently sold the assets. There's plenty there worthy of investigation but nobody seems keen to do it.

Speaking of fraud, the Daily Record yesterday had the story of Craig Whyte's dad overseeing the stripping of Castle Grant of all fixtures and fittings before the bailiffs arrive to repossess it and lock the place up. Even the oil used for the heating was loaded up and taken away. I take it there must be some cold nights down Monte Carlo way! As usual the DR has to pat itself on the back  saying about the Ticketus deal,  "we revealed it". Somebody commented that it was a 'freelance journalist' that really exposed the Ticketus deal. Later I noticed that this post had been removed for 'violation of our terms and conditions'. I suppose those 'terms and conditions' include not pointing out the truth!

And finally, another great piece of comedy provided by Bisto FC. Apparently the Rangers (sic) Shop at Ibrox is selling jackets with a Latin version of the old Rangers motto 'Aye Ready.' (I wonder how that'll go down with the Ludge!) Now anyone that did any Latin at school at all will be familiar with the verb parare, which means to prepare, make ready. Who can ever forget chanting, paro, paras, parat, paramus, paratis, parant ? The past-participle is paratus, which is used as an adjective, meaning prepared or ready. Even if you've never done Latin it's an easy matter to look up this kind of thing on the internet. Considering that the motto of the United States Coastguard is SEMPER PARATUS, meaning Always Prepared, makes it even more easy.

Which makes it all the more ridiculous and hilarious that any Bisto Kid buying one of these jackets is walking about bearing the legend, SEMPER PERATUS. I don't remember any such verb as perare and a search online confirms that it doesn't exist. As for the word peratus itself, it appears to be the name of some American rock band that plays cover versions. Maybe this is Sports Direct's idea of a joke at Bisto's expense; making The Peeppil walk around wearing the name of a tribute act!
