THE BIG C

A massive boost arrived for the Bettertogetherers with the news that the Grand Orange Lodge has registered as a “permitted participant” with the Electoral Commission. A dejected Alex Salmond said today, "Well, that's it, the game's a-bogey. Everybody'll be voting 'No' in September." A massed march of mounted dinosaurs is planned for September 17th. Meanwhile a statement from Ibrox said, "Never mind referendums - buy some season tickets, ya tight-arsed bastards. Christ! It'd bae easier tryin' tae sell a book tae Monti!"

The Orange Lodge has a long tradition of backing 'No' votes. They campaigned against the Catholic Emancipation Act of 1829 and the Reform Act of 1832. They were also against extending the vote to the working classes in 1867, as well as giving the vote to women after the First World War. As you can see, they have nearly two-centuries worth of successful campaigning to inspire them!

Uber-ned Barry Ferguson was in the Daily Record yesterday saying how the Fat Penalty Taker would be a major asset to Bisto FC and would slot in well up front with the Cuprinol Man. Apparently he's lost a bit of weight and has been 'playing well' for Kilmarnock. I haven't seen any of his goals from last season but if they're anything like the ones he used to score for Rangers then they'll be dodgy to say the least. He always got away with absolute murder, going in on keepers with his studs showing, waddling in from offside positions etc. The fact that he achieved nothing in England shows how overrated he was. He couldn't get away with his crap down there and I remember seeing one match where he dived for a penalty and sat completely dumfounded when he didn't get it. Supposedly money's an issue but I'd imagine he'd jump at the chance to play out of Ibrox again, especially when he hears about the favours granted to the new team by our officials; it'll be just like old times!

When I read this story in the DR yesterday there were four comments. I tried to post something but wasn't allowed. A couple of hours later all the comments had been deleted and nobody was allowed to post anything else. It seems that nobody is allowed to say anything derogatory about Bisto FC. The comments were pretty anodyne but one person mentioned the fact that Boyd wouldn't be 'returning to Rangers' as Rangers no longer existed. That was probably what got the moderator all hot and bothered.

On the subject of the Daily Record forums, is the paper itself behind all these adverts for get-rich-quick schemes? Say something about Sevco or new clubs and your post disappears almost immediately and yet spam about earning ££££££££££££s on Google stay up all day and night. Either the paper's getting commission or these adverts actually originate from Central Quay. Maybe it's a new fundraising scheme cooked up at the top of the marble staircase!

McMurdo hasn't changed his blog and he still has his disciples going on about cheating in the beautiful game. Here's one viewpoint: "Suarez sums up football today and that the old adage ‘cheats never prosper’ is as dead as a dodo!" I wonder if he means teams swindling all their creditors and then trying to carry on as if nothing happened? Somehow I doubt it. And, of course, this being The Peeppul, bigotry is never far away. One clown had this to say about the Suarez incident: "Italian football has cheated the world for years. no sympathy for the romans!" And yet another sad bigot is accusing Samaras of diving to win that penalty! Haven't they got marches to go to?

The Daily Record, meanwhile, outdid itself yesterday in twisting a story to suit its 'NO' vote agenda. The Stagecoach Group, in its preliminary report, warned shareholders of potential changes that might affect the company. I notice the online article has been changed to balance things out a bit but yesterday all it focused on was that a 'YES' vote might involve some risk to the company. The headline screams out as if this is what the whole report was about and the article itself wasn't much better. As I've mentioned, the article has been changed now but it's too late. You've got to laugh when they go on about 'cybernats' and the like and then resort to twisted shite like this to frighten people into voting 'NO'.

Finally, that's a milestone reached. I've broken the hundred barrier with sales of Clash of the Agnivores! A big thanks to everyone that's bought it and hopefully my sales will continue to climb! If you haven't bought it yet, why be left out? Get in with the in-crowd and click on the book cover below.

P.S. A slight 'caveat emptor' here. Somebody has bought my book 'The Football Star.' Hopefully they weren't buying it thinking it was about football, although the cover should be a bit of a giveaway. It's the last book in a series of four science-fiction books for children. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a book meant for kids - I've read plenty, but check first that the book is what you think it is before buying!

The new Bisto FC front line is unveiled.
