SHARES LOW, SHARI LOW AND SHAMEFULLY LOW
Loony Leggat has seriously lost the plot. He has got it into his head that Imran Ahmad is responsible for uploading to the internet the video of Malcolm Murray. Without a shred of evidence he condemns Ahmad and calls him every name under the sun. He also sees it as a great conspiracy involving Keith Jackson and the Daily Record, in conjunction with Celtic of course. Yesterday he was going on about padded cells and strait-jackets. I suppose it's easier to write about things you're familiar with!
He talks again about the e-mail he received from Ahmad, 'hiding behind the Joe Ninety nom de guerre,' he says. In other words, he received an e-mail from a 'Joe Ninety' and has assumed that it was from Ahmad. So, again, he is condemning Ahmad without a shred of evidence.
Leggat goes on to outline how Murray could take Ahmad to court and how Green could end up in trouble as well and how Ahmad could have broken the law. In fact, the only one that could end up in court is Leggat himself, for slander!
He continues with how the London Stock Exchange will be interested in what's going on. Actually, they won't. Trigger's Brush FC shares are not traded on the London Stock Exchange; they are traded on the wee, diddy, AIM Stock Exchange. That august body will probably not be interested in Leggat's ravings either. They might, however, suspend trading in the shares until there is some clarity about what is actually going on at Ibrox. If they don't, and the civil war continues, then there is the serious possibility that the price of the shares could end up going through the floor.
Bill McMurdo, meanwhile, is still carrying on his crusade to stop people trusting in the 'Old Guard' and self-styled 'Rangers Men.' He is, however, fighting a losing battle. Rangers, and Trigger's Brush FC have never been about looking forward. Everything is about looking back and any future has to be embedded in the past, especially as far as the supporters are concerned. It doesn't matter how much money you've got; as long as you're a 'Rangers Man' then you're welcome.
The papers have decided to just shrug their shoulders and wait for the next instalment to come out. The only commentator that comes close is Shari Low in the Daily Record. She doesn't mention the incident by name and certainly doesn't intend to use the shenanigans at Ibrox in her next novel; it would be too unbelievable! It is obvious, however, that she has been inspired by the Murray video in her appeal for privacy. She is completely right. You should be able to have a few drinks without being afraid that any staggering you might do will end up being used against you at work, or even plastered (pardon the pun) all over the internet. Loony Leggat is right about one thing: whoever uploaded that video of Murray, it has seriously backfired on them!
The dark side, or, rather, the even darker side of the Trigger's Brush FC support crawled out onto Bill McMurdo's blog today. Bill himself decides to use the disgusting murder of a soldier in London by Islamic extremists as an excuse to tell us that Irish Republicanism is a bigger threat in our country. He also shamelessly equates this shocking occurrence with the mob that harangued Nigel Farage! Of course, that opened the floodgates; one poster pointing out that one of the demonstrators in Edinburgh had an Irish name! Without a hint of irony, Old Bill bemoans the 'hatred and bigotry' that 'plagues our land.'
It's only a matter of weeks until the Scottish Rickets Sufferers take to our streets for their annual bigot-fest. While they hold up the traffic and sing their vile songs about murder and mayhem, the burden is on the tax-payer to foot the bill for the policing of this festival of hate. Is this what Old Bill is talking about, I wonder!
I spoke the other day about the need to move forward. Some people, however, cannot. While some in Northern Ireland have rolled up their sleeves and are trying hard to make the Peace Process work, others are out battling with the police over the city hall following the same procedure as everywhere else in Britain for the flying of the Union Flag. What's really behind this is the fear of losing a bit of power, like folk in Texas and Mississippi in the 1960s fighting to stop blacks getting equal rights. Equally, the Trigger's Brush mob have lost their team and the power they held over Scottish football and they don't like it. All they can see is that they are 'The Peeppull' so there must be a great conspiracy against them; all part-and-parcel of the same conspiracy that's stopping a flag being flown every day in Belfast. Anyone with an Irish-sounding name is a suspect!
It really is bad enough this paranoid, bigoted nonsense without using the tragic murder of a young soldier as an excuse. Do they really have no shame?
The worrying thing is that these kind of people are always looking for a scapegoat. The EDL blame all Muslims, UKIP blame Eastern-European immigrants, the Sevilles in our country blame Catholics and the Irish, while their American counterparts are even blaming the devastation caused by the tornadoes in Oklahoma on gay people! Strangely, if you disagree with these clowns, you're the one that's the bigot!
