Now the same thing is happening over the issue of whether Orange Walks should be allowed. The Daily Record ran a survey yesterday on this very issue. The filip for all this debate was the girl (who was 15 on Saturday but is now 12) that was hit in the face with a bottle in Glasgow Green on Saturday. To be honest, the only ones to blame for this incident are the ones chucking bottles about, although a case could be made for pointing the finger at the stewards and even the police for allowing all the drinking to go on. You can't really blame the Orange Order for this, so what is the Daily Record up to?
The whole thing smells like another 'Jennifer's Ear' to me. There are plenty of good, valid reasons for banning Orange Walks, which I won't go into here, but this incident is not one of them. You can just imagine the scenario: calls for the Walks to be banned, then the girl herself appearing in the paper asking that the ban never happens and then wee stories doing the rounds about the folk fighting being Celtic supporters or something. Anybody with any sense can see the planned outcome of this: to deflect from the real reasons why these Walks should be banned, to undermine the case for them being banned and to smear those that want them banned. Unfortunately, Jim Murphy has already walked into the trap, calling for the proposed Walk in Edinburgh in September to be banned. Has the guy no brains at all?
Such a knee-jerk reaction plays right into the hands of the Orange Order and its apologists. It's easy for them to point to folk being injured in fights at football matches etc. to show that this incident is not their fault. Now is not the time to seek to ban these marches; much better to leave them to stew in their own juice for a while. When they are finally stopped it'll be for the right reasons. Trying to ban them now, however, because of the injury to this girl will ensure that these bigots will be blocking our streets for decades to come.
Hector pointed me over to McMurdo's blog yesterday and he's right; it does look like the Williamite Wizard has been reading my site. How else to explain his sudden realisation that there's a scandal a-brewing down in Westminster regarding the covering up of decades-long paedophile activity. He tries to argue that it's not a reason for voting 'YES' as there were, and are, plenty of Scottish politicians involved. What he doesn't mention, though, is that these Scottish politicians are all part of the BRITISH Establishment and they'll be lining up to put their X in the 'NO' box in September.
When I first moved to Edinburgh in the late 1980s there was a massive scandal in the local papers about parties where young boys were drugged and sexually abused by judges, top solicitors and the like. An Edinburgh businessmen, whose name everyone knows, was suspected of organising these get-togethers. (This guy is also notoriously litigious, which is why nobody, including me, ever mentions his name!) Needless to say, projected investigations into this were abandoned along with the investigations being conducted into child abuse throughout Britain.
I don't think many folk have read my novel 'Only The Good'. (My daughter insists that it's far too graphic and should be removed from Amazon and all copies burned or deleted!) Anyway, the scenario I put forward in the book about the poor Church of Scotland minister is based on my take on the Orkney scandal. Even at the time I thought there was something suspicious about the investigations in Orkney and the consequent distrust of social workers that it engendered. It came right at the time when social workers were investigating ritual child sex abuse at the top level of our society. It certainly couldn't possibly be coincidence!
If even half of the rumours are true then even members of the Royal Family have been involved in these disgusting practices. It's not just that there are paedophiles at the heart of the British Establishment, as McMurdo claims, but that the British Establishment is intrinsically perverted. My novel gives a good idea of what I think is actually the case: you can't become a member of the British Establishment unless you are a paedophile!
One complete moron on McMurdo's site is still trying to score points with the old 'Savile pictured with Jock Stein' bit. He's not the only one trying to deflect, with more than a few saying that any enquiries should start at Celtic Park. I wonder if Celtic's solicitors are aware of these slanders? Anyone out there with any connections should get e-mailing immediately. I've said it before and I'll say it again; the supreme irony of the Torbett business is that if Celtic had employed the same kind of sectarian policies as Rangers then none of it would have happened. To liken it, however, to the organised abuse of children that the British Establishment has been carrying out, is nothing short of disgusting. Google 'Elm Guest House'. Staying with McMurdo, he seems to be more concerned about the impact on the 'NO' vote than catching the scum involved. Strange that, as they're always telling us, as they bring up the name Torbett time and again, they only care about the victims! According to McMurdo, Scotland's destiny is to be 'chief of all nations'. Assuming that this pish is correct, how does he hope to achieve this happy state through UKIP? Surely cutting ourselves off from Europe is not conducive to Scotland being chief of anything? If he wants to bring on the 'Last Days' then he should emigrate to Israel and see how many Jews he can sign up to his Calvinist-cum-pagan beliefs.
Meanwhile, the gulf between Celtic and Bisto FC becomes apparent when you compare the reactions of the respective management of each club after their latest pre-season friendlies. Celtic drew 1-1 with Rapid Vienna and Ronny Deila was absolutely blazing. He ripped into his team for their lacklustre display and hardly had a good word to say. Contrast this with Bisto FC's similar draw with Highland League team, Brora Rangers. Kenny McDowall, Sooper's No.2, said of Boyd's equaliser, “That’s what Boydie does – that’s why we brought him back to the place. We’re delighted he has started with a bang and we look forward to many more goals...It was a great goal." So it appears that the Bisto FC management is happy that their 'dream team' duo of Boyd and Miller could only manage one goal against such opposition! They must be going to rely on the officials to bail them out during the coming campaign!

This is Daisy, who wandered onto the pitch at Brora and kicked the ball accidentally, sending it into the Brora Rangers net. Understandably, everybody mistook Daisy for Boyd. This was especially true when pictures were taken of the beast's arse, which everyone assumed was Boyd's face. Bisto FC still claimed the goal.
